Last updated: 9 July 2026
This notice explains what information we collect through the Shift waitlist at bookshift.co.uk, why, and your choices. We've kept it short and honest.
What we collect
- If you join the waitlist: your email address, your city, whether you signed up as a customer or a tradesperson, your trade (contractors only), the date, and a simple tag showing how you found us (for example, via a shared link).
- Website analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused tool that shows us aggregate visit counts and referrers. It does not use cookies and does not identify you individually.
What we use it for
- Emailing you occasional updates about Shift's launch, and telling you when Shift is live in your area.
- If you registered as a tradesperson: contacting you about joining Shift as a founding contractor.
- Understanding which areas and trades have the most interest, so we launch in the right places.
That's it. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything unrelated to launching Shift.
Where it's stored
Waitlist entries are stored securely in our records (currently held with Google's services). Emails we send come from Microsoft 365. Our website is served via Cloudflare, and the live map on our homepage is provided by Mapbox, which may process your approximate location technically in order to serve map imagery.
How long we keep it
For as long as the waitlist is relevant to Shift's launch. If Shift doesn't launch in your area, or you ask to be removed, we delete your entry.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask to be removed from the waitlist at any time — email hello@bookshift.co.uk and we'll delete your entry.
- Every update email we send includes a way to opt out.
- Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, and erase your personal data. Email us and we'll help.
Who we are
Shift is operated by Bookshift Ltd, a company registered in England, based in Sheffield. For anything relating to your data, contact hello@bookshift.co.uk.
